The MILS®-System was primarily designed as an evacuation system for use in emergency, however the fact that the MILS®-Stripe can incorporate different coloured LEDs means that besides its obvious uses as an emergency system, the MILS®-System can also be used as an orientation tool to control and guide people to an airline gate, a particular film in a movie complex, the correct ward of a hospital, etc.
The MILS®-System is designed to fill the information and safety void left by other static or passive emergency lighting systems. While many buildings and public facilities already have Emergency Response planning and some even have commissioned software simulations on the evacuation behaviour of the people in emergency situations, during the emergency traditional evacuation systems are static... meaning you follow exit signs or photoluminescent stripes to fire exits. The MILS®-System can help the evacuation time, and the safety of the people, by guiding people to the safest exits, and these routes can be modified real time depending on the development of the emergency situation.
The MILS®-System can be installed anywhere there are people, indoors or out, is tested against vibration and offers an incredible life expectancy. It is also extremely easy and fast to install, thanks to the modularity of its key components.
